I work for the Center for Spatial Information Science, The University of Tokyo as a Project Assistant Professor.
I have been studying landscape planning (environment planning).
Research theme
I’m landscape architecture/landscape scientist that believe people and nature can coexist in harmony. I think we can learn the ways in which people and nature have coexisted and build a better relationship in a way that fits perfectly with today's society. I hope to realize a society in which both people and nature are happy together.
In a master and doctoral student era, My study theme was the relationship between people and rivers. there must be a way to coexist with rivers in modern society, even if the frequency with which people's lives are threatened by rivers is increasing recently.
In recent years, in addition to rivers, some secondary natural environment (especially urban trees and forests) are also my study field. Since ㏌ order to clarify the way we have interacted with nature and should interact with them now and in the future.
These my studies are conbining fieldworks and spatial analysis like GIS (Geographic Information System) and others.

Research background
I've always loved living things, and I have been thinking “what do insects and animals need to live happily? ”in my childhood.In the era when it is touted to protect the natural environment, when I saw forests, agricultural lands, and rivers worked the revetment was underway, where did the creatures living there go? I think this idea is the root of my path as a researcher.
During my undergraduate era and my former company, while visiting various regions, I learned how people and nature can live while helping each other without being conscious of it in many regions. In those areas, the lifestyle that has continued since the time when people did not have to destroy nature is maintained, and the method of coexisting with various "environments" surrounding people, such as the history, traditional industries, and culture of the area, is the original method of the area. Even if the times change, I have come to want to create the area that can coexist with the diverse environment surrounding individual human beings and society as a whole.
In the study and community development, I think it is important to grasp the relationship between people and the surrounding environment in an area, that is, the "local characteristics " of that area. In addition, I think that it is the role of human beings to create a society where people and nature can be happy together by always thinking about how to use the space in this area.
